Bespoke Bride - Helen

I have been so excited to share Helen’s bespoke bridal separates with you! From back in September, Helen and Edd got married in Cornwall at stunning venue Roscarrock and their wedding looked glorious. The day was captured by the wonderful Lizzy Churchill

When Helen came for her initial consultation, accompanied by her lovely Mum, she had already been to try on a number of dresses. Helen had successfully narrowed down what she wanted, she knew she wanted separates as re-wearing elements of her outfit was important to her, and she knew she wanted pearls! My heart sang when I heard this as I had been so keen to work with a gorgeous Pearl studded tulle for some time. When the words wrap over top and tulle bow were added I knew we were a match made in heaven.

We decided to go for a gorgeous eco friendly satin which had a sheen and a weight to it that meant it draped beautifully, Helen wanted the skirt to skim her figure and hug in all the right places. I did a couple of dye samples for Helen as she wanted to be able to give parts of her dress a new home in her wardrobe after the wedding was over. We included a wide waist band to sit with the crop top without exposing too much of Helen’s midriff. For the wrap over crop top we settled on delicate spaghetti straps and a neat cross over front which I loved designing and pattern cutting.

We chose Pearl buttons to fasten the skirt and the crop top at the back which went perfectly with the pearls on the tulle we used. For the Pearly over top we decided on a slash neckline, v back and long sleeve. For the bow I made two wide full length bands that tied together to fasten the top at the back and create the epic pearly bow as a statement piece. We edged this tulle top in a silk binding which I cut in bias strips to keep it as narrow as possible. I absolute love how this turned out, the romance and fun of the tulle paired with the sleek combo underneath. Separates at their best!

Helen and Edds coastal wedding looked like the most gorgeous day, the sun shone for them up on the cliffs and they celebrated in a white marquee decorated in a sunset colour theme. Helen’s stunning bouquet was made by 3 Acre Bloom and fitted the vibe exquisitely!!

Congratulations again Helen and Ed. It was a pleasure and an honour to be a small part of your most special day.

…”Hannah was an absolute dream to work with. I’d tried on close to 20 dresses/outfits before but had never had the “this is the one” moment. I liked elements of different outfits and so decided to find a designer who could make me my dream dress! I came across Hannah on Instagram, and she was amazing from our first conversation….”
