Design consultation.

Congratulations!! You’re getting married, what wonderfully romantic news. Creating a bespoke Solunah dress begins with the initial design consultation. This is a chance for us to get to know each other and discuss all of the exciting plans for your day. You’ll have the opportunity to explore the existing collection and try any styles you’re drawn to, to help us decide which silhouettes and design features suit you. As inspiration strikes, we will work together on a bespoke sketch to refine your design and discuss fabric options. As your dress continues to develop you will receive a personal pack filled with sketches of your design, swatches of your selected fabrics and examples of embellishments to help you visualise your dress after you have left the studio.

Toile fitting.

For your first fitting appointment you’ll try on a cotton calico toile of your dress, created from your measurements. At this stage we will ensure the fit and shape of your dress is working, and refine the design to include any tweaks or adjustments you may want to make. Your chosen fabric options will be draped and pinned onto the toile to help you visualise your finished wedding dress and make any final choices on embellishments and fabrics.

Further fittings.

As your dress develops we will schedule a fitting for you to try it on in the final fabrics, but before it is finished so you can continue to see the design come to life. This will ensure the fit is frequently perfected along the way and keep you involved in the progression of your design at every stage. You’ll need to try the dress on with your chosen shoes and lingerie for your day so we can make sure it is the correct length.

Final touches.

This is where the magic happens. Any hand finishing is meticulously completed, the buttons are attached, and any final beading or embroidery is sewn on. Your dress is steamed and hung in its beautiful garment bag, waiting for you to lay eyes on it. Your final fitting will be as close to the date of your wedding as possible to ensure each element is absolutely perfect for your day.

“A wedding dress is more than just a dress, It is an extension of your identity, a jigsaw piece to fit in with the grand plan of your dream wedding day. I want to make sure that your dress, is all you.”
